Re: Magix Music Cleaning Lab
yep me
I used it for a while and you can get quite good results with it. You can't get CD quality from a vinyl record but you can get some nice results. It takes a while to get the results you want but if you persevere you can get quite a good sound. It does depend on the condition of the vinyl you are recording from but the software does a reasonble job of cleaning the sound of crackles and hiss. If you don't expect a miracle transformation from noisy vinyl to CD quality then i think you will be quite pleased with what the software does. It's fairly easy to use and is self explanatory. You can get working with your uploaded track quite quickly.
I recently bought a USB record deck that comes with it's own software, mainly because it is easier to link up to the PC, but the results are more or less the same.

Something similar, i guess, but you can also edit. So you can fade the tracks in and out of each other at the beginning and end, or take an excerpt out, for example. There are also special effects you can add.
I think that it only costs about £20-£30 so well worth buying if you have a collection of vinyl that you wish to re-explore. The version I got of it also came with the necessary cables to link your sound system to your PC.
However, If like me you have 100's of vinyl records, and you want to go down memory lane, for somewhere in the region of £79 to £129 you can buy a USB record deck, or a USB tape deck which includes software and instructions. I found it easier because it was not easy to link my sound system to my PC.

Re: Magix Music Cleaning Lab
Mezz,
And there is where my problem lies.
I hooked-up my stereo (aux tulip plugs) to my sound card (mini stereo jack), used every colered connection -(pink green purple)- to it using the cable that came with it.
But I hear no sound and the parameter to regulate the volume in the program indicates it as "to low".
Any suggestions?
believe me I read the whole instructions.
Eric

Re: Magix Music Cleaning Lab
I have a vague recollection that I had the same problem and instead of using the aux sockets with the tulip plugs I think I tried using an adaptor that allowed me to plug into the headphone socket of the sound system.
I can't quite remember why or how though.

Ty,
I changed my Sony miniset to an other Tapedek.
Used the same cable and connection in/output.
Guess; it works, sound ok and I see the volume in the programm up so high from green yellow to red.
Now I wil try to record 2 square meters of tape

Thanks for the compliment Rob, but not really. Just things that I have had problems with in the past and had to research to solve my problem. Some of it sticks in your head.
